Reflection on Lesson.

Fourth Reflection on ICT integration in classroom teaching

Date: 24^th October, 2020 (Saturday). Class PP A and B

Subject: Mathematics Topic: Ordinal numbers and halves

With the changing learner and learner environment, technology has become part of our daily life. As we become increasingly supported by ICT, teaching and learning will not be the same as before. We will have to make use of the rich and exciting opportunities offered by the new technologies in education to reach our new goal and vision. Therefore, we should integrate ICT in our classroom teaching to enhance learning.

The lesson was taught on 24th of October, 2020 for class PP Mathematics through we-chat. The lesson
was about different patterns . The teaching was done purely based on the use of ICT depending on the demand of the situation. Activities were designed such that students are to participate individually in class we-chat forum developed during the pandemic particularly for the lesson teaching and learning purpose.

I have prepared two activities, first activity is where children are going to color a half of each shapes and identify each shape divided into its two halves by the line to mark Yes and No on the divided portion . Then the second activity is where children are asked to write and differentiate between the halves from one whole

During follow up of the activity I made some students to read what they wrote and spell the written words . In the lesson closure, I have acknowledge with their work done to check the understanding of the lesson delivered.

While reflecting on the integration of ICT in the lesson, I find projectors to be very useful classroom devices/tool. By using projector I have observed that class becomes more interactive and children enjoyed learning. It plays an important role in delivering the lesson content through images and saves time and children were able to give more information on the concept taught. But in this present situation we can adjust with the social media and sim book .

Positive points

The students was very active in participation .All the students actively participated in the lesson activity .During the students activity, I gave them positive comments and sticker to acknowledge them. The low achievers were provided with necessary guidance and support. I also gave an emphasis on the skill in focus with the use of appropriate classroom language. At the end lesson objectives was totally fulfilled

Challenges .

The teaching seemed bit dull and vague. Another challenge was students were not able to participate in the lesson immediately because the lesson is delivered in the we-chat. And the gadget is usually taken by their parents wherever they go out for the work. Overall impression of the lesson was good. Most of the students understood what actually I meant to teach them.

Students actively participated in the activities and they solved all the problems using different way of learning . From the submission of their work, I also understood that students have learnt all very well. Thus, the overall impression of the lesson was very good.

ICT integration in my teaching

21st century teacher implies to practice that one explore require to be forms of information and communication technology in the lesson. Using various approaches by teacher in his or her teaching will have great impact in teaching learning process. Learning via AV technology creates a stimulating and interactive environment. More than that we are leaving in the audio visual age and it is essential that our children are exposed in this technology, so that they become skilled from the young age. Such opportunity if provided in the class room can facilitate learning. (AV) in my lesson development part I made my students to listen the audio- visual soundt the topic Self prepared abouand then to repeat what they hear from the audio- visual sound.

The ICT based teaching aids used for the lesson were, ‘mobile, laptop, and Data internet. I goggled up some video from the internet and presented to students through wechat forum. I also made the video tutorial on the above topics and presented to students as means of ICT integration in my teaching. The videos on alphabet sound recall were shared through wechat and lesson objective were fulfilled as expected. However there were a bit differences in comprehending or understanding the task as compared to face to face learning. Any way the need for learning and keeping all engaged was found good and favorable using online method of teaching through wechat forum. the activity part, I made children to practice rehearsal to read the words to practice . While follow up I found that most of the children performed exceptionally well. I concluded that AV lesson has contributed immensely in enhancing their capabilities.

Activity: after the lesson video, I made my students to learn the and practice and recoginise where it is used the ordinal position and halves to present it in the class WeChat group. There was prompt responses.
